In August 2003, China National Light Industry Federation and China Furniture Association awarded Anji the honorary title of "Hometown of Chair Industry in China". Anji is not only an important production base of chair industry in China, but also an important trade distribution center of chair industry in China. The chair industry in Anji first started in 1980s. In 1982, Anji Science and Education Equipment Factory cooperated with Shanghai Tongji University, Peking University and other universities to develop the first five-wheeled swivel chair, which became one of the earliest enterprises producing five-wheeled swivel chairs in China. This product has the characteristics of novel shape, convenient use and multiple functions, which are obviously superior to the traditional seating. Therefore, the demand in the market is in short supply, and the production of swivel chairs has developed rapidly and moved towards the whole country. The slogan of "paying for people and seeking for thousands of people" is almost a household name. After Deng Xiaoping's southern speech in 1992, Anji private economy joined the swivel chair industry one after another, which further concentrated the production factors, and the swivel chair industry began to enter a period of rapid development. The products developed from the original single swivel chair production to the chair serialization direction. At present, six series of office chairs, massage chairs, row chairs, leisure chairs, sofas and various accessories have been formed.
